Suddenly Single
This weekend I took Lennon to Little Rock as he was a featured performer in the Arkansas Literary Festival's Pub or Perish event. This will probably be one of the last times I mention Lennon here, as he broke up with me today after a screaming fight that shed new light on aspects of my character I didn't know were so flawed, but he was kind enough to point out.
Dress: Forever 21
Tights: from Buffalo Exchange new merch
Shoes: Target
Locket: thrifted
Headband: Goodie Two Shoes in Austin
Ring: antique mall find
Tonight I came home to an empty house with no knowledge of where Lennon is or when or if he's coming back. I suppose we won't be sharing a residence much longer.
I haven't been truly single in a very long time. Even when I was "single" last year I was dating regularly. I already feel slightly handicapped like I don't know how to move in this new existence. As Lennon is out, probably with people, I assume he's already figured it out. I mean, I didn't even figure out the break up was official until people texted me that he'd changed his status on Facebook to "single." Oh, Facebook.
Ok, now what?

I'm really sorry to hear what happened between you two -- you've mentioned before that you were working some stuff out together. I really hope things get better soon :) *Hugs*
On another note, I really love these photos. Your outfit is fun (it reminds me of Alice in Wonderland a bit) and your detail shots are really great.
Aww :( Sounds super cliche, but if you want to get out or something, I'm up for pretty much anything as long as it's free/cheap. Good luck getting things worked out w/the living space, and I hope you feel better!!
We hang out, as I am truly single for the first time in approximately a decade. Come to Cove for my birthday weekend, it'll be awesome.
hey chica - I'm sorry to hear about you and lennon. I hope you don't feel too sad :( remember that being single can be a blessing. time for yourself, to figure out what you want, and to get to know yourself better.
I'm sorry about your break-up. It's unfortunate that it had to end with a fight, but being single is so exciting and free! Maybe that's just my naivety speaking, though, but I'd be psyched if I were you :) The most gratifying experiences are the ones that test our comfort zones! <3
bummer. screaming fights are never good, especially when they get nasty and personal. do you think its going to be permanent, or something you think you can work out? usually the very fact that people live together forces them to re-address the original problem with a cool head because there are actual issue of logistics that need to be discussed (who moves out, who gets what). when a couple doesn't live together, they can just go off to their respective homes and indignantly lick their wounds without making the first step towards peace. if it's something you want, i truly hope you work it out. otherwise, i wish you all the best in your new-found independence.
Love this outfit. Blue is really pretty on you!
You'll be fine, you may feel pretty horrible right now. You deserve someone who will love all of you, even your flaws. As long as you love yourself, you'll get by wonderfully.
I absolutely love this look. You're like a modern-day Alice, you know? Take care lovely and have a fabulous weekend!
So is it cool if I ask for a threesome now? I am sure that my girl won't mind. Keep your chin up bukko. Like my grandmother once told me... Women(men) are like street cars, wait around long enough and another will come around. Wait a minute. Was my grandma picking up hookers?

Gah, sorry to hear this and it's on Facebook too! Maybe being single will be good, let you figure things out.
Love the hosiery. :)
those are some great tights! love the color
WHHHHHATTT???
darling, i'm so sorry to hear this. i can't imagine what went wrong since i last saw you two, but just know your a strong a lady and your life will still flourish. breakups are some of the hardest things i've ever experienced in life, but to tell you truth.. a part of me kinda loves them. I change. I grow. I look for parts of me that I never knew were there, and I force myself to become more independent creatively and mentally. turn this negative into a positive! i know you have it in you. if you need a friend, i'm always here. don't let this hinder your Austin experience.
You are a strong, amazing women and this is a bump in the road but not a set back at all. Although tough, you can get through this and come out on the other side in an even better spot ... just wait and see. Your blog is amazing and you have a great "brand" ... work it girl! I believe!
Take care of yourself during this crazy time. Get a new tattoo to celebrate independence! It's not a bad thing. Take care!
Lovely photos!! your ring is so chic!! thanks for stopping by and following my blog :)
vicki xo
I'm so sorry. Just one fight did it? Maybe I need to keep reading older posts, I'm so behind. And when I say I'm sorry, I really really mean it. My heart hurts for you! I guess since I still haven't moved on from my last relationship, I still have that tug of the heart with painful situations like this. Oh love, how wonderful and how awful it can be..
After a bad breakup, I had a bonfire night with my friends. We all wrote down about what was getting us down or making us afraid( be it men, school, the future etc) and read it out loud before burning it in the bonfire. I also gave him back everything he ever gave me, and burned everything else that reminded me of him.
We girls finished the night off with movies featuring strong female characters that weren't dependent on men. (word to the wise, avoid Thelma and Louise. It is a bit depressing. Fried green Tomatoes is great, though. TOWANDA!)
That's how you know who is a real friend; if they are willing to jump around a fire with you and listen to you whine endlessly about all your fears and pains. You are a well worded, well dressed and strong minded beautiful young lady. You may feel weak now, but pain is weakness leaving the body, right?
Fiona Apple, St. Vincent and Tegan and Sara also have some great angry girl music for venting, too. :)
Here's to a better, stronger you!
