In trying to vamp up my blog in a cheap, DIY sort of way, I came across some websites that were really helpful, so I want to share them with anyone else looking to do their own layouts/html/graphics/etc. I still have tons to learn, but I feel as though my geek points exploded from their -1000 standing a week ago.
For graphics help:
Picnik.com - super easy to use, and also does collages.
Paint.net - sort of like a free photoshop. I'm still learning this one.
A few layout sites:
Leelou Blogs
The Cutest Blog on the Block
Shabby Blogs
HTML help:
Blog Secrets
The Girl Creative
I'd love to make this a running list. Are there any great spots and helpful tutorials that I've missed?

Thank you for this. I've been wanting to change a few things with our blog, and now I just might have to get on it. Picnik is amazing! :) - JoAnn, Sidewalk Chalk

Thanks for posting this - I was actually going to ask you for some pointers b/c I am *considering* starting a blog (I want to fully convince myself I can keep up with it first.)
You may want to check out www.colorcop.net It is a free download and basically gives you the HTML code for any color you scroll over with your mouse! It ROCKS!
